Far Infrared Sauna

Advantage of Infrared Saunas

Unlike a traditional sauna, infrared saunas don’t heat the air around you. Instead, they use infrared lamps (that use electromagnetic radiation) to warm your body directly, easily penetrating the body tissues and allowing you to experience a more intense sweat at a lower temperature. When you enter a sauna, your skin temperature rises, your pulse rate picks up and your blood vessels become more dilated as your heart begins to pump more blood. Of course, you also begin to sweat.

Your sympathetic nervous system becomes more active in order to maintain a temperature balance in your body and your endocrine glands begin to get involved in this response. The heat can make you less perceptive to pain, more alert and even give you feelings of elation. Your muscles relax and become untense and often, pain will decrease.
